Editorial Review for Centennial Park – by Melanie Friebel

In Short
Centennial Park, which housed the 1897 Tennessee Centennial Exposition, is a prime spot for an outdoor lunch break. Elaborate structures, monuments and memorials line the park, including the spectacular Parthenon, which honors Nashville's adopted sister city, Athens. Inside the full-scale replica, visitors will find the 42-foot Athena Parthenos, the tallest indoor sculpture in the Western world, as well as a compelling art museum.

I love Centennial Park...the Parthenon alone makes it worth the trip every time. I just wish people would stop the incessant littering.

Pros: Location, Spacious grounds, Parthenon

Cons: Litter

5 Star Rating: Highly Recommended

With the lake where you can feed the ducks, and the vintage plane and train, Centennial Park is like Nashville's Central Park. Go on a Saturday early afternoon. Sometimes there are people "cruisen" and the litter dont really match the ducks in the lake. But overall the parks ROCKS and its nice to take a date to eat a picnic lunch. They have alot of activities at the park too. But only every now and then...

Pros: beautiful scenery, lots of parking, good location

Cons: some play LOUD music, people litter in lake, lots of "cruisen"
